When can I start?
Puppy Kindergarten is a 7 week session for puppies 8 weeks to 5 months* of age. This course is designed with emphasis on socialization, to open up a lines communication and forge a strong bond between you and your new puppy, and engage him in confidence building excercises. Through play training, puppies learn to pay attention, Walk on a leash, Sit, Down, Come and Name Recognition, run Puppy Agility obstacles, and crucial socialization out of the house.

We believe there is a critical window for socialization, so we have developed "rolling sessions". Simply put, this means you can start your 7 week course whenever you want - you don't have to wait weeks for a new session to start. Contact us to register in advance, but you can begin any Tuesday. We strongly recommend you get your puppy to Puppy Kindergarten as young as possible after 8 weeks old, at least 3 days after first puppy vaccination.

The rolling sessions option together with the ability to start your puppy at the critical age of 8 weeks old is unique to Pinellas Dog Training School. Most local clubs won't allow puppies to start until 12 - 16 weeks old. The owners and instructors at PDTS adamantly believe that unecessarily wastes critical weeks of the socialization window, and have lobbied our clubs to lowering the admission age for many years armed with experience and many statements from veterinarians and reputable breeders who whole-heartedly agree.

This course exposes puppy to new people and dogs in a safe, structured environment. Q&A sessions are woven into each class offering solutions to typical puppy problems and topics such as housebreaking, crate training, chewing, flea control, introduction to grooming and nail trimming, etc.
